OEM numbers and fitment, from your own data

Tolra matches OEM numbers in any format and searches the fitment you already write in your titles and metafields. It does not come with a vehicle database.

What shoppers type, and what goes wrong

OEM numbers with spaces

Problem

5Q0 698 151, 5Q0-698-151 and 5Q0698151 are one number. Plain search sees three different strings.

With Tolra

OEM numbers are matched with spaces and dashes ignored, as one number, so the right part comes first.

Searches by car, not by part number

Problem

Shoppers type brake pads golf 7 front or corolla oil filter. The words are in your title, but not in that order.

With Tolra

All words are matched across the title, tags and metafields, in any order. Fitment you write in your listings is searchable.

Try it: corolla oil filter →

Sizes in cm and mm

Problem

Wiper blades are listed as 600 mm; shoppers type 60 cm.

With Tolra

Lengths in cm and m are compared in mm, so wiper 60 cm finds 600 mm blades.

One part, many OEM numbers

Problem

An aftermarket filter replaces six OEM numbers from three car makers.

With Tolra

List them in a metafield or upload them as other part numbers (Growth plan and up). Each number finds the part, labelled "Matches X" or "Replaces X".

What it looks like

How Tolra Search looks in a store and in your Shopify admin. Products and numbers are examples.

Part numbers, any format

With or without dashes, dots or spaces. The SKU, the maker's number and the numbers it replaces all lead to the same product.

The OEM number 92442167, typed without dashes, finds the drain pump that replaces 92-442-167

What works well

  • OEM and aftermarket numbers in any format, from titles, descriptions, metafields and a cross-reference CSV (Growth plan and up).
  • Fitment words that are already in your listings: make, model, generation, position (front, rear).
  • Sizes: wiper lengths, bulb types, thread sizes.
  • Filters from your data, for example position or compatible model, when AI suggests them and you approve (Growth plan and up).

What Tolra does not do

There is no vehicle database and no year, make and model selector. If your store depends on a full fitment lookup across thousands of vehicles, you need a fitment data source; Tolra can sit next to it as the text and part number search.

Setting it up

  1. Make sure the fitment is written in the product: title, tags or a metafield such as “Compatible models”.
  2. Put OEM numbers in a metafield or upload them as other part numbers (Growth plan and up).
  3. Install Tolra, copy your products in and test your top OEM numbers in a few formats.

Questions

Does Tolra have a year, make and model selector?

No. Tolra searches the fitment data you supply in titles, tags, descriptions and metafields. It does not include a vehicle database or a year/make/model widget.

Can AI fill in fitment for me?

No. AI only suggests values that are written in your listing, such as a compatible model in the title. It never guesses fitment, and you approve every suggestion.

Why is auto parts a secondary use case?

Tolra works well for auto parts stores that already have their fitment in their product data. Stores that need a full vehicle lookup usually need a fitment database, which Tolra does not provide.
