Part numbers
Dashes, dots and spaces are ignored, so 5Q0 698 151, 5Q0-698-151 and 5Q0698151 are the same number. SKU, maker number and the numbers a part replaces all count.

What happens when you type
Sizes and units
1/2 inch, 1/2" and ½ in are one size. So are 60 cm and 600 mm, or 1,5 kW and 1.5kW. M8x1.25 is not M8x1.0.
Words
Small typos are fixed (berings), and synonyms you add (viton = FKM) work in both directions.

Part numbers, any format
With or without dashes, dots or spaces. The SKU, the maker's number and the numbers it replaces all lead to the same product.
Sizes written different ways
1/2", 1/2 inch and ½ in find the same fittings. 60 cm finds 600 mm wiper blades.
Filter by spec, like a parts distributor
Filters come from the products that matched. Sizes become min–max ranges in the unit your catalog uses; the rest are checkboxes. The list view shows specs in columns you can sort.
Product requests
When nothing matches, shoppers can send the part number and their email. You see each request in the admin and can reply.
Quick order
Trade buyers paste lines of part numbers and quantities and add them all to the cart at once.
